Ultrasound

ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound testing is a useful diagnostic tool for your Doctor  to obtain more information about the structure and appearance of your internal body organs and also to detect any abnormalities that might be present.

X-RAY

An X-ray is a quick, painless test that produces images of the structures inside your body — particularly your bones.
X-ray beams pass through your body, and they are absorbed in different amounts depending on the density of the material they pass through. Dense materials, such as bone and metal, show up as white on X-rays.

MAMMOGRAPHY

A Mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breast.
At DX Medical Imaging Consultants, we offer both screening and diagnostic services and are proud to be a part of the Ontario Breast Screening Program.

NUCLEAR MEDICINE

Nuclear medicine imaging uses small amounts of radioactive materials called radiotracers that are typically injected into the bloodstream, inhaled or swallowed. The radiotracer travels through the area being examined and gives off energy in the form of gamma rays which are detected by a special camera and a computer to create images of the inside of your body.

BONE MINERAL DENSITY TESTING

A bone density test is a kind of X-ray test. It measures the density of minerals (such as calcium) in your bones. This information helps your doctor estimate the strength of your bones.

NUCLEAR CARDIOLOGY TESTING

Nuclear cardiology tests safely take pictures of the heart.
A very small amount of radioactive tracer (radionuclide) is injected into a vein and is taken up by the heart. A very sensitive gamma camera then takes still pictures and movies of the heart with rest, exercise, or medication-induced stress testing.

IMMIGRATION MEDICAL EXAMS (IME)

The purpose of an immigration medical examination is to assess your general health and to identify any major medical conditions.

ULTRASOUND GUIDED BIOPSIES

Ultrasound guided biopsy is an outpatient procedure to obtain a tissue sample of an abnormality discovered on a radiology scan. It is the most common form of image guided biopsy, offering convenience and real time dynamic observation and allowing for precise placement.
